VCE students explore creative careers

Regional VCE students gathered at Horsham Regional Art Gallery and Horsham Town Hall on Friday, March 14, for the VCE Creative Arts Day.

The event inspired students studying art, visual communication and design, media and music by connecting them with experienced creative professionals.

Presenters led sessions with lectures, practical tasks, and discussions, directly linking to the VCE curriculum.

A round table discussion featured local creative professionals, who shared insights into career paths in the arts.

Artist Mia Cera Salsjo was the keynote speaker of the day.

She spoke about her multidisciplinary work, which blends music composition, visual art, and performance.

She showcased her recent project, The Bridge: A Score for Sydney Harbour Bridge (2023), demonstrating how she integrates different creative fields.

Guests Brittany King, Lauren Van Katwyk, Desiree Cross and Tracey Rigney also led different creative workshops throughout the day.

The event encouraged students to explore diverse opportunities in the arts and learn from professionals in their community.
