Gayle Newcombe will conduct a Pastel workshop at Hopetoun Power House Arts studio on November 30.

Gayle is a self-taught artist who lives and works on a farm near Nhill.

Her studio on the farm is a restored 80-year-old barn from which she can view her natural surroundings and the amazing sunrise reflections.

She is inspired by her surroundings and her love of animals, both wild and domestic.

Gayle uses a variety of media like pencil, pastel and paint for her realistic art works.

Gayle draws and paints from her own photographs and her life like portraits of animals have won many awards as well as being a beautiful tribute to a much-loved pet.

The Hopetoun Power House programming committee have been fortunate to secure Gayle on November 30, as a workshop tutor.

Beginners as well as the more experienced will follow step by step instructions from Gayle’s sunrise or sunset photos.

This is a good opportunity to create a personalised and individual artwork to take home and frame.
