Tones and I picks Queensland, NSW, but all hope isn't lost
All hope hasn't been lost for Tones and I to perform a concert in Horsham, despite the town not being named as her first or second preference.
After Tones and I announced on her socials that she would hold a concert in an Australian location on February 20, a campaign from locals to get the singer to the Wimmera, Ingham, Queensland, was announced as the winner on Monday night.
But Tones and I also announced that four more shows would be held, with locations to be announced soon.
The following night, Wollongong was announced as the next town to host a concert, this time on February 27.
The "Bring Tones and I to Horsham" attracted more than 1100 followers in just over a week, with the page earning one of her "Top Fan" badges days into the quest.
Organiser of the page, Maddi King, was anticipating the announcement all day Monday and said after it that she was still hopeful for a concert held locally.
"I prayed that she would be announcing more than the one concert as the whole of Australia wants her," Mrs King said.
"When she did announce it, I looked up Ingham's page, and they only have 100 or so more followers than the Horsham Page, so I think we are still in with a good chance at being one of the five concert towns."
Although Mrs King wasn't too disappointed by the announcement of the first location, it wasn't well received by her family members.
"My eight-year-old, Lexie, wasn't as okay with not being chosen, but her face lit back up once I told her there were going to be five concerts," Mrs King said.
"Fingers crossed that Horsham has been able to be one of the few that 'went the hardest' as Tones said."
