Push-ups in a paddock full of stubble?

Ouch! (And ouch again.)

But Berriwillock farmer and reality TV star Will Simpson is up for tackling just about anything, including The Push-Up Challenge.

The Farmer Wants a Wife celeb is one of more than 100,000 Aussies who've committed to completing 3144 push-ups before June 23.

That's one push-up for every life lost to suicide in 2021.

As an ambassador for both Lifeline and the challenge, Mr Simpson is well into his daily routine now and says he'll have no trouble meeting the target.

"Raising awareness when it comes to mental health is so important to me as it affects everyone, either directly or through friends, family or community," he said.

"For me personally, living in a rural farming community, mental health issues can still come with an associated stigma.

"However, I believe that by promoting discussion, support and awareness we can help remove that stigma and push for better."

Organised by the Push for Better Foundation, The Push-Up Challenge has an optional financial component.

Participants can choose to raise funds for the host charity or for either Lifeline or Movember.

Although taking on the challenge might be too big an ask at this advanced stage, there's still plenty of time to support someone like Mr Simpson who's already involved.

In 2022 more than 153,000 Australians completed 190 million push-ups and generated more than $10 million for mental health.
