Singalong country classics set for Warracknabeal
Anthony Tenace and Connie Kis Andersen are coming to Warracknabeal in a couple of weeks for a morning concert filled with country music classics.
Both artists have found success on their own, but seeing them perform together and play a long list of well-known songs you can sing along to will make this event memorable and entertaining.
Speaking with Wimmera Mallee News, Connie said she met Anthony when she was an emcee at the Mildura Country Music Festival, casually singing harmonies off-stage to songs of his she knew, so she was looking forward to the Warracknabeal concert.
“I spoke with Anthony about it, and we will do a few songs together, but we'll take turns doing solo sets and then come together for a few songs,” she said.
“Anthony and I will cover some of the classics ... a bit of rock and roll, a bit of country.
“It will be some Elvis (Presley), Patsy Cline, some of the traditional country male artists and female artists, and a smattering of one or two of my little hit songs people know if they request it.”
They may very well be requested, given her seventh album, ‘Reflections’, won best Australian independent country album at the Tamworth Country Music Festival just last month.
She was excited to add “I just got this, just within the week – one of my songs is now in a montage for ‘Best Medicine’, which is TV series with Fox in the US”.
But despite the success, her feet are firmly grounded in playing locally for a live audience, “just for a wonderful morning of friendship and great music”.
“I've been to Horsham quite a few times now, and it's really very strange, but it feels like a second home, the Horsham area, because I'm starting to head back there quite regularly,” Connie said.
From toe-tapping favourites to timeless hits, this is a feel-good show that will have everyone clapping, singing and dancing in their seats.
Anthony and Connie will be at the Warracknabeal Town Hall on Thursday, February 26, from 10am-12pm.
