Rainbow Scout Group welcome new cubs
Rainbow Scout Group has had an exciting start to the year, ending the term with a warm welcome to four new Cubs.

This term, Cubs and Scouts have been out and about, eagerly participating in their Outdoor Adventurer Skills (OAS) in Aquatics at Rainbow Lake and in Cycling.
All of this adventure has been packed with so much fun, especially with our vibrant Tropical theme this term.
Our Cubs and Scouts have shown incredible creativity, crafting beautiful backdrops for island photos, swimming in the sea, and relaxing on the beach.
They’ve teamed up in patrols to create and present delicious food and drinks for our thrilling Masterchef cook-off.
Parents and friends were invited to taste these incredible creations and vote for the People’s Choice Award, making it a wonderful celebration for the end of the term.
Term 2 promises to be even busier.
Cubs will embark on two exciting camps, our first to the breathtaking Grampians.
They will camp with the 5th Mildura Cubs, hiking through stunning landscapes and daring to join the Victorian Abseiling team for a vertical descent.
Under the guidance of trained Leaders, Cubs will learn essential safety and technical skills in abseiling before tackling a natural-surface abseil, an unforgettable challenge that will boost their confidence and sense of achievement.
The second camp will be at Aurora Dimboola, a District Cub camp that also serves as a Per Cuboree Camp for those attending this major event later in the year.
Cuboree, happening during the September school holidays, will be an incredible experience where over 3,000 Cubs and 1,500 Venturers, Rovers, Leaders, and Supporters will unite in a five-day adventure of camping, activities, and making lifelong memories. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to bond and grow alongside fellow Cubs from all across Victoria.
Meanwhile, our Scouts will stay busy organising a Patrol-run camp and sharpening their outdoor skills for the Cohen Shield.
They’ll also prepare for an overnight hike along the scenic new Wimmera River Trail, embracing every challenge with enthusiasm and courage.
Our dedicated youth members could not participate in these amazing activities without the unwavering support and guidance of our phenomenal leaders.
Last year, Jess was honoured with a Service Award for her dedication to Scouting. As a new leader, she attended the Australian Scout Jamboree in Maryborough, QLD, and is working through her training to help craft an incredible program for Rainbow Scout Group.
Jess was proud to receive this special award at the start of the year during our District Founders Day, in recognition of her passion and commitment.
Scouting offers incredible opportunities not just for youth, but for adults as well, creating a safe and welcoming space where adventure happens, skills are built, resilience is developed, and individuals blossom into independent, community-minded young people.
We warmly invite everyone to reach out and come experience the spirit of Scouting firsthand. As volunteers, you will be mentored and supported every step of the way, from the Rainbow Scout Group to state-level training, empowering you to make a meaningful impact.
Rainbow Scout Group meets on Tuesday nights 3.30 to 5pm.
Be A Scout, create your Adventurer.
