Could a concert help lift spirits after the bushfires? Horsham fans are rallying support to bring Tones and I to town after the singer asked followers to prove which place “goes the hardest”. On Wednesday, the Horsham Rural City Band belted out 'Dance Monkey' to show punters how good the Australian artist would sound at City Oval.

Maddi King, the creator of the page "Bring Tones and I to Horsham", said there are a couple of reasons why Tones and I should hold a concert in Horsham.

One reason was to lift community spirits after the recent bushfire devastation, while the other was more personal.

Announcing her arrival back in Australia after touring London and on the back of her new album "Beautifully Ordinary", Tones and I said she wanted to hold a concert on Friday, February 20.

"One big show and I will make tickets $10," she posted.

"All ages.

"Whatever place goes the hardest gets the show."

Tones and I promised a full band and full choir, and said she'll bring the stage if it's a small town.

And with a simple statement, just 12 sentences long, her fans lit up socials, creating page after page in attempts to get the "Dance Monkey" singer to their town.

Numerous pages were created for the Wimmera in just a few hours, including ones for Jeparit, Horsham, Warracknabeal, and another encompassing the entire region.

Combined, they had gathered close to 800 likes within 24 hours.

Mrs King said that if a concert were held in Horsham, it would bring a positive vibe to the community, offering something to look forward to at a difficult time in everyone's life, whether they have been affected personally by the fires or know people who have.

"Secondly, my partner and I went and saw Tones and I when she was opening for Pink in February 2024," Mrs King said for her reasoning behind the creation of the page.

"She played her new, not yet released song 'I Get High',

"I was 19 weeks pregnant with my first daughter, my partner and I were dancing to the song, then suddenly I started to feel her kick.

"This was the first time my partner had felt it, and from then on, anytime we played Tones and I 'I get High' she would pop a foot or hand into my ribs!

"She is now one and a half and still loves a Tones, and I jam session!"

Mrs King had been a big fan of the singer since 2019, and her first single, "Johnny Run Away".

She said her favourite song, for the above reasons, is "I Get High", but there's also a bond Ms King feels she shares with Tones and I, which makes the connection a bit more special.

"What made me connect with Tones and I the most was the bond she has with her Nana," Mrs King said.

"I was raised by mine and loved seeing the connection she has with hers when she brought her out on stage at the concert."
