Pink Stumps Day at St Marys
St Marys will look to get their second win of the season when they host Wycheproof/Narraport at Anzac Park on Saturday at their annual 'Pink Stumps' match in round 12 of the Wimmera-Mallee Cricket Association.
The 'Pink Stumps Day' is a ladies day fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation.
Last year the club raised $2,500 and they aim to raise more this year. There will be a raffle after the game and everyone is encouraged to attend.
The last time these two met, St Marys won by 96 runs. They scored 5/196 with Nicholas Germano hitting 118. He then took 3/13 as they bowled them out for 102.
St Marys captain Colby Schmidt said last week wasn't acceptable and training on Tuesday was hard.
"The way we played last week was poor and they got a hiding on the training track," he said.
"Everyone was out in the middle for three hours batting for a long time. Our fielding and bowling have been up to standard but our batting hasn't.
"They all copped it on the chin and know what to expect and there are no excuses this week."
BrimKSH will look to bounce when they travel to face St Arnaud at King Georges Park.
Jeremy Preston, Chris McPherson, Tim Bell and will be back so they are full strength.
Matthew Crisp said everyone is hurting from last week and is determined to bounce back.
"We are all keen to get back onto the winners board," Crisp said.
"St Arnaud is always tough on their home ground. We don't usually get too many wins there. They like their carpet wicket and small ground.
"We will look to make a big score and make a statement."
The last time these two teams played, Brim won by eight wickets. They bowled St Arnaud out for 129 and then chased it down in the 28th over, finishing on 2/131. Connor McGinniss scored 46.
In the other match, Marnoo hosts Birchip at Marnoo Recreation Reserve. Donald Jeffcott has the bye.

St Marys travel to Hopetoun to face the Southern Mallee Giants. With three rounds to go, if the Giants win, they will cement themselves in a top-four spot.
In the other two matches, Donald hosts Watchem at Donald Recreation Reserve and Brim hosts St Arnaud at Brim Recreation Reserve.
