Available now on the App Store and Google Play, the app offers bin collection reminders, calendar notifications, updates on service changes, and a detailed A-Z waste materials guide.

The app features a bin collection calendar, recycling location details, transfer station information, and guidance on which bin to use for specific waste items.

Residents can also access news and updates directly through the app.

Horsham Rural City Council mayor Ian Ross urged all residents with kerbside collection to download the app.

The app simplifies waste disposal by putting practical information at residents’ fingertips.

“This app will make bin collection and correct waste disposal a breeze for our residents, with lots of information literally at your fingertips,” Cr Ross said.

“Not only does this app give you reminders of what bins to put out each week, but you can easily search and find out how to dispose of items.

He highlighted the app’s role in reducing bin contamination, ultimately sending less waste to landfills.

The initiative supports the Victorian State Government’s Circular Economy (Waste and Recycling) Act 2021, which aims to boost recycling rates to 80 per cent by 2030.

Residents can download the HRCC Waste app by visiting the App Store or Google Play and following the simple prompts.
