IWD event focuses on 'Finding the Balance'
International Women’s Day 2026 in Wimmera will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10, at Horsham Town Hall Theatre with Finding the Balance.

The official proceedings will begin at 12.15pm, but the women and allies are invited to pause, reflect, and connect at 12pm.
A light lunch will be provided, and a free guided tour of the Horsham Regional Art Gallery will be offered at 11.30 am.
This year’s event acknowledges the external demands and internal load that many women carry.
Facilitated by Ellen Jackson from Potential Psychology, the interactive session will explore balance as a metaphor for care, capacity, and limits, focusing on progress rather than perfection.
Participants will leave feeling acknowledged, connected, and empowered.
The Horsham International Women’s Day Committee works collaboratively to deliver events that celebrate women, promote gender equality, foster inclusion, and strengthen connections across the region.
The Committee welcomes all who identify as women and people of all genders.
International Women's Day is a global movement that combines celebration, advocacy, and action and is celebrated worldwide through marches, rallies, panel discussions, educational events, and social media campaigns.
This day in 2026 offers an opportunity to honour women's achievements, raise awareness of persistent inequalities, and participate in initiatives that advance gender equality, justice, and the empowerment of all women and girls.
IWD began over a century ago with early labour protests and was recognised by the United Nations in 1975.
It has long been a platform for advocating women's rights, equality, and protection from discrimination.
In 2026, women hold only 64 per cent of the legal rights that men do; campaigns around the world are working to accelerate toward equality.
Tickets for the Horsham event are $15 ($12 concession), available at the Horsham Town Hall or online at: https://horshamtownhall.com.au/iwd.
