The Main Street Secret Santa is spreading more cheer this Christmas in Dimboola, with three-year-old Murphy Ross having found a gift left on the bollard in front of the library last week.

Gabrielle Ross and Murphy came across the present: a bag containing a lollipop and $100 in play money.

"The lollipop was the best thing to happen to him since turning three last week," Mrs Ross said.

"Murphy was absolutely thrilled with the discovery and was telling anyone who would listen.

"And the beauty of Dimboola is that anyone he stopped in the street did (listen)."

Mrs Ross said it was always nice when people took a bit of thought and time to make another person's day - old or young - and create some joy on a normal day, let alone in December, which was often a chaotic time of year.

"Sometimes we forget to slow down and just enjoy the little things that are big things to little people," she said.

"The gift was an absolutely lovely gesture and a little bit magical, just like Christmas."
