Flipping For Fun and Powerful Prayer

The Rainbow Christian Fellowship Group began in 2026 with the first gathering on February 17.

After the feast.
After the feast.

Being Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Tuesday, it was decided to have some fun and bake up a storm with pancakes for all to enjoy.

Lauris Bretag and Ann Dent whipped up the pancakes, which were lavished with a range of toppings from crab meat to strawberries and ice cream; enjoyed by all, with no one going home hungry!

With goals of faith, fellowship and fun, the group decided to dispense with formalities in 2026.

While based at the Southern Mallee Co-operative Parish Church, the hope is to go from strength to strength, welcoming all who wish to come and be part of the group.

It was a delight to see the response of others in the community attending in February who have now joined the group.

This year, the Fellowship is hosting the important annual event, the World Day of Prayer.

This day centres on a particular country and their needs.

With a service prepared by the women of that country, the focus country this year is Nigeria, where Christians face extreme persecution and many other hardships.

Around the world, people will be gathering to support Nigeria and its people.

This year, the service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 6, at the Southern Mallee Cooperative Parish, 22 King Street, Rainbow.

It is hoped that many will come and support this event and all are welcome.

As well as praying for Nigeria, it is hoped that the Rainbow Christian Fellowship Group will continue to flourish and bless many near and far.
